CSGI (Italian consortium of research group) is an inter-university Italian research consortium of excellence, ranked first by the the Italian National Agency for the evaluation of research quality, to which both Università degli Studi di Firenze and Università degli Studi di Siena participate. CSGI develops its activity on several levels: it carries out scientific activity going from basic research to the development of high-tech new processes; it offers specialized support for the activities of small and medium size business industrial companies; it has collaboration with several national and international industrial companies and highly qualified Research Centers, it is active in the training of specialized researchers and in sponsoring research programmes.
