CoSviG (Consortium for the Development of Geothermal Areas) is a Italian public company, founded in 1988 with the aim of promoting the local socio-economic development and to cooperate with Local Authorities, coordinating technical and financial fulfilments linked to the use of royalties resulting from geothermal exploitation. Among its infrastructures, the Consortium owns a center for advanced competences in geothermal field, the CEGLab – Laboratory of the Centre of Excellence for Geothermal Energy of Larderello. It is an on-field laboratory to carry out tests and experiments on products and processes, to contribute to the technology transfer and to the dissemination of innovation, as well as optimizing the knowledge on geothermal related issues. The laboratory also provides scientific and technical support for the development of geothermal use.
